Monastery Stables

Monastery Stables is a historic full-care boarding barn located in Fairmount Park's Wissahickon Valley, at the end of Kitchen's Lane, in the Mt. Airy section of Philadelphia, PA. Although we are conveniently located within 10 miles of Center City Philadelphia, Plymouth Meeting, Ardmore, and Willow Grove, we enjoy a six-acre country setting with direct access to the many miles of trails in the park. 

 The converted former bank barn has 22 stalls. Horses are turned out from morning to late afternoon each day in well-drained paddocks. We provide hay four times a day, and feed twice daily, with owner-provided supplements as desired. Rubber-matted stalls are bedded in sawdust and mucked daily.

 We have a large, lighted outdoor sand arena, and mowed fields for riding in or just grazing in-hand after a ride. Boarders and members of the Philadelphia Saddle Club enjoy all amenities of the Wissahickon.
