About UsThe Boarders and Stewards of the Monastery (BSM) is a charitable organization founded in 1994 to care for the Monastery buildings and grounds and to promote horsemanship in the Wissahickon Valley. BSM is the caretaker of the Monastery facilities under contract with the Fairmount Park Historic Preservation Trust and is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation. Kitchens Lane Stables, Inc. is the company engaged by BSM to manage the stable operations. Monastery Stables is located in Fairmount Park, at the end of Kitchen's Lane, in the Mt. Airy section of Philadelphia. For information about boarding or visiting, call 215-848-4088. The stable has a capacity for 22 horses. Persons not owning a horse can ride by joining the Philadelphia Saddle Club (call 215-233-0341 for details). Riding lessons are available for boarders and Saddle Club members. |
